Friday, March 27, Legacy participated in the indoor state track meet at NDSU. All “Class A” schools attended and many of the state’s top athletes participated. Legacy girls ran their way to a 14th place finish out of 17 teams. Highlights included Tchina Nygaard and Heidi Hilz in the 60 m hurdles (9th and 12th), Patty Brodie in the 1600m (12th), Samantha Anklam in the triple jump (12th)  and two 7th place relays, the 4x200m (Mercedes Baumgartner, Naomi Gross, Kennedy Mueller and Noelle Engen) and the 4x800m relay (Mercedes Baumgartner, Mesa Tollefson, Kennedy Mueller and Brita Feland.)

The boys managed an 11th place finish out of 17.  They had two freshmen standouts in Austin Wolf and Beau Brannan. Wolf tied for 2nd in the High jump (6’0) and Brannan ran his way to a state championship in the 800 with a 2:01:51. The only time in the field that was fast enough to qualify for the outdoor state meet later this year.
